Privacy Policy

Overview

CoastIQ is a privacy-first retirement planning app. All financial calculations run entirely on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal or financial data.

Data We Do Not Collect

• Financial information (balances, income, expenses)
• Personal information (name, age, location)
• Device identifiers for tracking purposes

Your retirement scenarios, account balances, income streams, and all other financial data are stored exclusively on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data never leaves your iPhone or iPad.

Anonymous Usage Analytics and Crash Reports

CoastIQ uses Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand which features are used and to fix crashes. They receive anonymous usage events, for example which tab or tool was opened, whether a scenario was created, and whether you use the free or premium tier, plus crash reports with the device model and iOS version. They never receive your balances, income, expenses or any other number you enter. This data is not linked to your identity and is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking. Google describes its handling at Firebase privacy and security.

Subscription Management

CoastIQ offers optional in-app subscriptions managed through Apple's App Store and processed by RevenueCat, our subscription infrastructure provider. RevenueCat receives:

• An anonymous app user ID (not linked to your name or email)
• Purchase and subscription status (to verify your entitlements)

RevenueCat does not receive any of your financial planning data. Their privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Apple App Store

Purchases are processed by Apple. Apple's handling of payment information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. CoastIQ does not have access to your payment details.

Data Export

CoastIQ allows you to export your scenario data as JSON, CSV, or PDF. These exports are generated on your device and shared using iOS's native share sheet. We do not receive copies of your exports.

Third-Party Services

CoastIQ uses two third-party services: RevenueCat for subscription management and Google Firebase (Analytics and Crashlytics) for anonymous usage statistics and crash reports, both described above. It has no advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs.

Children's Privacy

CoastIQ is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in the app or legal requirements. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised date.
